The Triton Brass Quintet

has developed a classroom experience which is second to none.  Through our many variations of concerts, clinics and masterclasses, TBQ will inform your students both historically and musically.  Regardless of your students' take on music, TBQ Seminars will broaden their horizons and in doing so introduce the endless possibilities in music.

New - Time Travel (grades 6-12)

Our newest classroom experience is an introduction to music from the earliest melodies of plainchant to the polyphonic complexities of modern music.  TBQ will travel with your students through history, clearly explaining the complex web of music's evolution.  Beginning with Gregorian Plainchant, TBQ weaves its way through the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras of music.  Beware—this time machine has many surprise nooks and crannies, including vocal performances by trombonist Wesley Hopper and trumpeter Andrew Sorg as well as surprise instrument introductions including native instruments, period instruments, percussion and extended vocal techniques.  This program, as well as our other concert programs, can be combined very effectively with our Clinic and Masterclass functions (see below).

Jazz Standards

A history of traditional jazz, from African-American spirituals and Gospel to Bourbon Street Blues and New Orleans Dixieland.  Includes modern jazz forms such as funk, bebop and fusion.

Seasonal Spectacular

Secular and/or sacred music celebrating the holiday season, selected from our extensive holiday repertoire.

Family Fun

A genuine TBQ recital for your students and their families, with a twist...while we set the form, YOU set the repertoire.  Our complete list of repertoire is available here at our internet home.  All you have to do is select the works you would love to hear, submit them to your band director or the host of the event and we will create a custom recital.  That's right—a recital for you chosen by you!

Clinics (grades 6 - 12)

Designed for brass sections, individual brass players, or the entire school band, the Triton Brass Quintet will coach your ensemble in warm ups, proper breathing, sound production, intonation, rhythm, articulation, solo, and ensemble playing.

Masterclasses (grades 9 - 12)

A group lesson on a particular instrument with the corresponding member of the Triton Brass Quintet.  Coaching of the band's brass section, chamber ensembles, and soloists.
